Gaby Rockett IIR(Dip) UK, IARAMT(Dip) SA
PR No.: 0791350
Gaby graduated in 2012 from the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR) UK in the original Ingham Method® of foot reflexology.
Upon returning to South Africa, she studied Therapeutic Reflexology & Meridian Therapy at the International Academy of Reflexology and Meridian Therapy (IARAMT).
Gaby is a registered Therapeutic Reflexologist with the Allied Health Professions Council of SA (AHPCSA). This demonstrates Gaby has met the strictest standards of reflexology practice, and that she is committed to continually developing her skills and knowledge, and that the scope of practice at Reflexology Body Balance is within the AHPCSA guidelines. A reflexologist does not diagnose, prescribe or treat a specific condition.
Gaby is registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and therefore patients who wish to claim reflexology treatments from their medical aid can do so. Patients pay for their session and submit the invoice to their medical aid.
Post graduate CPD training in the UK includes:
Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) (2012)
The aim of RLD is to stimulate the lymphatic system through the feet to drain excess fluid from the damaged area. Several abstract research studies show it benefits cancer patients who experience secondary lymphoedema as a result of medical intervention after breast cancer. RLD is also very effective for primary lymphoedema and auto-immune diseases.
This is a specific technique applied to nerve runs on the feet and lower legs which is effective in turning on the body's healing system.
Palliative Care Reflexology (2016)
Each treatment is tailored for each cancer patient, helping to alleviate pain, anxiety, cancer symptoms and side effects caused by conventional treatments. Treatments are also tailored for frail and sick patients.
Gaby’s holistic approach to patient management means she treats the whole person, while considering the emotional aspects of a patient's problem, as well as their lifestyle, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease. Her aim is to work alongside standard medical care whilst encouraging patients to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Each session provides patients with an outlet to share their fears and frustration in a professional and comfortable environment, to fully relax and feel safe. The entire body is worked through the feet.
Gaby approaches each session with the intent of compassionate gentle support; facilitating relaxation, and relieving stress and tension, and yet the physical and emotional effects can be so much more profound as patients discover their first step to an increased sense of well-being through Therapeutic Reflexology, Neuroflexology©, Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage and Reiki.
