They have poor self-esteem, their quality of life is adversely affected as they find their hand, wrist and arm mobility reduces as a result of medical intervention after breast cancer. This is as a result of the removal of lymph nodes which has reduced lymphatic drainage to the affected area causing fluid to accumulate in the tissue space resulting in pain and discomfort.
